Luxus Garage Conversions Weekly Update.

It’s been a busy and productive week for the Luxus Garage Conversions team, with exciting developments at two of our ongoing garage conversion projects in Leicestershire, one in Desford and the other in Loughborough.

Desford Garage Conversion: Fresh Plasterwork Completed

Over at our Desford garage conversion, we welcomed our plasterer on site to complete the full skim of the new interior.

Fresh plaster is always a milestone moment, it transforms the space into a proper room ready for decorating. This step moves us closer to turning the garage into a warm and modern home gym.

Loughborough Garage Conversion: Structural Work & Subfloor Installed

The Loughborough garage conversion has seen a huge amount of progress this week, with several major stages completed:

✔ New Subfloor Frame & Insulation

Our team installed a brand-new subfloor frame, installing damp proof membrane, fitting high-quality insulation and laying 22mm chipboard flooring. This creates a solid, energy-efficient foundation ideal for any future room use whether that’s an office, bedroom, gym or living space.

✔ Brickwork for New Window & Doorway

Our bricklayer has carefully toothed out and installed new brickwork to form both a window opening and a doorway. These additions will dramatically improve natural light and accessibility, helping shape the new layout of the conversion.

✔ Old Ceiling Removed for Quality Improvement

We also removed the old plasterboard ceiling, which had been poorly installed and was starting to crack.
Replacing it ensures the new ceiling will be structurally sound, long-lasting, and finished to the high standard our customers expect.
